Nyla's work of Art

Nyla Gladine Thompson was struck with Polio at an early age in childhood. But as she grew up she developed a talant that even the President acknowledged. That President was Franklin D. Roosevelt, and also Lady Bird Johnson. Nyla is the daughter of Lillie Estelle Sawyer Thompson and Pum RoyThompson. Some of Nyla's painting's were put on postcards. In which I have a few of them here. There is a story that in the town of Wharton Texas there was a Teepee type restaurant that had pictures painted on the wall of that restaurant that those were done by Nyla herself in sections. With out the use of her hands she painted by mouth. Click on picture to enlarge
